How it works

Three steps, zero hassle.

1. Open your file

Drop a FlySight or FlySight 2 TRACK.CSV. Detection is automatic.

2. Drag Start & End

Slide the handles on the altitude chart. The map highlights the keep-range as you go.

3. Download or convert

Download the file, optionally convert between FlySight 1 and FlySight 2 formats.

Trim your FlySight TRACK.CSV

FlySight and FlySight 2 write GPS logs from the moment you turn it on, to the moment you turn it off. Files can be long: walk to the plane, climb to altitude, freefall, canopy, and walk-back after landing.

This tool lets you keep only the useful slice (we recommend you keep at least a few seconds before exit and after landing, otherwise our algorithm might not be able to tell if the file is complete or not)

To select the part of the file you want to keep, drag the Start and End handles on the altitude chart, preview the path on the map, then save. The file never leaves your device.

Convert from V1 to V2 or V2 to V1

You can also convert between formats while trimming. Use Save as → FlySight 1 or FlySight 2 to rewrite the selection as classic V1 CSV (two header rows + data) or V2 ($FLYS$DATA + $GNSS rows). Same-format downloads preserve the original headers and row layout.

Works with both FlySight and FlySight 2 tracks. For full jump analysis (map, speeds, glide ratio, and all other metrics), use the FlySight log viewer.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The file is read and written entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to FlySync servers.

Without going too much into details, Flysight 1 format is a simple CSV file, and Flysight 2 introduced some headers as well as a few extra columns. This flysigth trimming tool takes away the work and does the conversion for you if you need it.

After opening a file, use the Save as control next to Download. Choose FlySight 1 or FlySight 2, set your Start/End range, then download. Leaving Save as on the source format only trims; switching format converts the selected range.

Because Flysight 1 doesn't support the same headers as Flysight 2, these informations (firmware version, serial number of the device and unique session ID) will be lost in the process. In exchange you might get a better compatibility with older tools that were built for flysight 1 and not adapted to support flysight 2 file format.

Yes, in fact some tools only work with V1 files and will fail to open a V2 file. So the file produced by this tool could technically be more compatible.
